Our café, situated in the heart of the South Shore community in the city of Chicago, Illinois, is more than just a coffee shop. It’s a passion project, a celebration of the residents of the neighborhood, and a sanctuary for artistic expression.
As a native of this vibrant city, our owner, Dwan “Dee” Martin envisioned a place that would be more than just a business venture. She wanted to create a haven that embraces the local community’s unique spirit and fosters artistic growth. And so, Urban Luxe Café was born - a place where creativity and connections flourish.
At Urban Luxe Café, we take pride in serving not only exceptional coffee, gourmet sandwiches and delectable premium hand packed ice cream, but also in nurturing an environment that supports local artists. Our mission is to be a platform for music, spoken word, and all other forms of art that thrive in our community.
We firmly believe that art has the power to inspire, heal, and bring people together. To that end, we regularly host open mic nights, live music performances, listening parties , book signings and poetry slams, providing a stage for seasoned artists and budding talents alike. Our walls showcase the works of local artists, and we rotate art exhibitions frequently to showcase the diverse creativity that surrounds us.
But our dedication to the community doesn’t stop at art. We actively participate in neighborhood initiatives, sponsor events, and give back to causes that hold significance for our customers.
